The world lost a master showman and a passionate conservationist in Steve Irwin. He probably did as much for promoting conservation and interest in the natural world as David Attenborough, and to me is one leg of the holy trinity of naturalists of the 20th Century (Attenborough & Durrell being the other two). He will be sorely missed.
